 International Lighthouse & Lightship Weekend (ILLW)
International Lighthouse and Lightship Weekend was participated in and celebrated at around 30 lighthouses around Australia. Representatives of LoA Inc attended a few of the events, and report on the activities that took place.
 Kangaroo Island Lighthouses Part III - Cape Willoughby
The last instalment in Denise Shultz's story of her holiday to beautiful Kangaroo Island in South Australia, where she stayed at each of the three main lighthouse's cottages around the island.

  Bright future for Jarman Islandís historic lighthouse
After years in disrepair, the Jarman Island Lighthouse tower, which was built and erected in 1888, is gleaming with its red and white paint and renovated stairs to take visitors up to the lantern room, where the lens originally flashed its welcoming lights to mariners.
  Point Cloates Lighthouse gets heritage status
The Points Cloates Lightstation and the Norwegian Bay Whaling Station - two historic sites on the Ningaloo coast of Western Australia, have been added to the State's heritage register.

International News
  USA Lighthouse Museum opening day
The Museum of Lighthouse History in Wells, Maine USA was re-opened on 7 August 2005 at a grand ceremony. The museum features the USA's largest collection of rare lighthouse artefacts, including lighthouse lanterns, keepers' uniforms, coins, photos, documents and flags, among a host of other things.
  UK light tower to be replaced?
The United Kingdom's
Sovereign Light Tower could be replaced by a light vessel or buoy under a national review. Trinity House, which runs lighthouses throughout the country, has announced a evaluation of all lighthouses including the famous Beachy Head lighthouse and the Royal Sovereign Light Tower.

 "Corrugated Castles" by Margaret Hill reprinted
Margaret Hill has reprinted her book "Corrugated Castles" with additional material. Corrugated Castles documents the story of her immigrating to Australia in the 1950s, and the hardships of life as a lighthouse keeper's wife. Margaret has been on the publicity trail with an interview on ABC Radio, a book review in the Melbourne Age, and a satellite broadcast to the UK.
 Beacons By The Sea : Stories of Australian Lighthouses Exhibition
The Beacons By The Sea touring exhibition presented by the National Archives of Australia is now on show at the Museum of the Riverina at Wagga Wagga until 30 October 2005, after which it moves to Brisbane, where it will be on display at the Queensland Maritime Museum until the end of January 2006.
