 Kangaroo Island Lighthouses - Part 2 : Cape Borda
Part 2 of Denise Shultz's story of her lighthouse holiday to Kangaroo Island in South Australia in January this year. On her the first night at Cape Borda, she could see six other lighthouses flashing.

Denise Shultz, LoA Inc President, presents another episode in her "lighthouse lecture series", Pharology 101, this time discussing the physics behind the visibility of lighthouse lights.

  Tacking Point vandalism
We report on the recent vandalism on the Tacking Point Lighthouse in New South Wales, and the ongoing issue of who is responsible for looking after our lighthouse heritage.
  Cape Don optic equipment
Jack Duvoisin and Col Gladstone report that the optic equipment of the Cape Don lighthouse in the Northern Territory has been located and donated to the Queensland Maritime Museum.
  Bulwer Island Lighthouse restoration
Similarly,
Jack Duvoisin and Col Gladstone report that the restoration efforts by the Queensland Maritime Museum on the Bulwer Island Lighthouse have almost been completed.
  CLS Reunion 2005
Lew Dickson reports on the festivities at the CLS Reunion 2005, which celebrated the 90th anniversary of the Commonwealth Lighthouse Service. Denise Shultz dropped into the celebrations on her way to Sandy Cape Lighthouse.
  Launch of Friends of Tasman Island
Christian Bell reports that the Friends of Tasman Island group was launched, with an important networking and social get-together in Hobart in May.

 International Lighthouse and Lightship Weekend (ILLW) 2005
International Lighthouse and Lightship Weekend is an annual event held around the world, celebrating all things lighthouse. A number of lighthouses are participating in radio hook-ups with other lights, and some special festivities are being organised at Cape Otway, Wollongong and Point Perpendicular.

 LoA Inc Annual General Meeting 2005
LoA Inc Secretary Pauline O'Brien gives notice of the 2005 Annual General Meeting of Lighthouses of Australia Inc. The meeting will be held online in the LoA Chatroom on 12 September 2005.

 Beacons by the Sea Exhibition
The National Archives of Australian exhibition on lighthouses has been travelling around Australia since 2002, and is on its way to Wagga Wagga in NSW next.

LoA Inc was asked the tricky question - do lighthouse lenses rotate clockwise or anticlockwise?; Southern Ocean Exploration reports locating an exciting maritime archaeology find; The caretakers at Cape Don Lighthouse are looking for stories and memorabilia; and Suzannah Butcher is writing a novel about a single lighthouse keeper.
